Hi folks -
A quick note.
The AIs are changing so fast, so often. Just last month, ChatGPT released DeepResearch. Perplexity.ai followed suit with its own tool less than two weeks later. Then Claude announced it could now search the Internet.
And the updates keep coming.
For those of us who use AI tools in our marketing (or who would like to), that means:
Any so-called āUltimate Guidesā to AI will soon be out of date. All advice is subject to change from one week to the next, as new products are released and capabilities evolve.
Classes, courses, certifications, and degree programs are almost certainly a waste of time. Their curriculums canāt update fast enough to be useful in the long run. To āLearn how to use AI,ā you need to be constantly learning.
What is the take away here?
The only way to learn AI is to be using the AI tools on a regular basisāand combine that with a continual thirst for improvement.1
All your prompts, workflows, and techniques should be in a state of continual updating. You need to learn how to ask the right questions, and understand how and why the AIs are responding. Often, this is the stuff of philosophy, not of marketing training courses.
I do all this naturally anyway, and will start to share what I am learning on a (near) regular basis here.
For starters, you should watch this interview between David Perell and Tyler Cowen from three weeks ago.
If you donāt have time, donāt worry; Iāll review some of the lessons in the next email. For example, why itās ok to write for the AIs (and in fact, you probably SHOULD be writing for them).
